Sports Medicine Australia

Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) is the peak body concerning Sports Medicine in Australia.

SDrA has a long association with SMA. This relationship dates to our inception. SMA has provided a vast range of services for SDrA. SMA has been the umbrella organisation for SDrA, in association with a number of other craft groups. SMA has also provided services for SDrA at an administrative level.

SMA provides a major forum for SDrA in our education requirements, teaching capacity and collegiate activities, through the annual Conference in Science and Medicine in Sport. On top of this, SMA develops concensus opinions concerning safety issues in sport.

As SDrA looks at the future and develops relationships with organisations, such as the RACGP, we continue to believe that a close relatinship with SMA is a cornerstone to our existance.

From another point of view, SDrA has provided valuable educational resources for the annual conference. This has resulted in a large number of workshops, the highly regarded Sports Medicine Emergency Care Coure as well as an excellent array of speakers.
